What web browsers can I use?
This website was throughly tested on Mozilla Firefox and Google Chrome. If you find any visual problems or you have some other suggestions, please email us so we can correct or improve our web application.

Do I really need to enable Javascript and cookies on my browser to access the site?
Yes, we use Javascript and cookies to check/validate data that you provide. Javascript and cookies helps in making sure that the data you submit is complete and accurate.

How do I enable Javascript in my browser?
In Firefox browsers, JavaScript can be enabled by typing about:config in the address bar and then pressing enter. It will then show a warning, just click on the I accept the risk! button. Next is to look for the javascript.enabled setting and right-click to toggle the value from false to true.

In Internet Explorer click the Gear icon (will appear in the tooltip as Tools). A pulldown menu will appear. From here, click on Internet Options. Select the Security tab and click Custom Level... button. Find the Scripting entry and click Enable under the Active Scripting entry. Then click the OK button to save your changes.

How do I enable Cookies in my browser?
In Firefox browsers, Click the triple bar icon (will appear in the tooltip as Open menu) on the upper right hand corner of the browser. This will open the Preferences page. Click the Privacy tab and under the History dropdown menu, click the Use custom settings for history. This will show a list of check boxes. Check the box beside Accept cookies from sites. Close the Preferences browser tab and the changes will take effect.

In Internet Explorer click the Gear icon (will appear in the tooltip as Tools). A pulldown menu will appear. From here, click on Internet Options. Select the Privacy tab and under Settings, click the Advanced button. Click the Accept option under First-party Cookies and check the box beside Always allow session cookies. Then click the OK button to enable cookies. This will return you to the Internet Options dialog. Then click the OK button to save your changes.

What are the benefits of using the Alumni Network Social Media Platform?

The project is a social media platform aimed at reaching out to alumni of universities to encourage:

  • Exchange of ideas - to promote creative use of existing technologies and for exploration towards new innovations.

  • Discussion of Timely Issues - to promote awareness of social issues and explore possible means to alleviate the difficulties through the use of our technological knowledge and expertise.

  • Promotion of Constructive Advocacies - to provide guidance to fellow alumni and possibly encourage active participation in productive endeavors.

How do I type the ñ and Ñ characters?
While holding down the ALT key, press the numbers indicated below on your numeric keypad at the right side of your keyboard (this won’t work if you use the numbers on the top of your keyboard!)
ñ = ALT 164
Ñ = ALT 165

NOTE: For laptops that have small keyboards, the numeric keypad is usually integrated with the U-I-O, J-K-L, M-<-> keys. To enable the numeric keypad, click on the NumLock Key.
